People of the African American persuasion haven’t really been included in Gossip Girl, but that’s all about to change. The black Donald Trump, Russell Thorpe and his daughter, Riana, are taking over the Upper East Side.
Apparently Mr. Thorpe is an old business associate of Bart Bass, so there is a Chuck connection here. Will Riana be the next victim of Chuck and Blair’s love game?
Michael Boatner, from Spin City (his character was hilarious on that show) will play Russell Thorpe and Tika Sumpter, from One Life To Live will play Riana. Side note: Gossip Girl gets a lot of people from One Life To Live. One of Blair’s minions, Brandies – the UES hooker, Penelope played by Amanda Setton and now Tika Sumpter.
They will make their appearance in Gossip Girl in early 2011.
