The Podcast People

I’m Angela and the podcast started with her. It was an OK thing, but it got better when I recruited other people to come into it. I’m a 20-something that loves Gossip Girl. The moment I was definitely hooked on the show was Episode #7: Victor/Victrola. That Blair and Chuck first hook-up completely changed the dynamic of the show and made me fall in love with “Bluck” and I love the song they were playing during that scene, Sum 41 – With Me. I know there were a lot of great moments in Season 1, but this is the one that really got me. My character from the show is Blair! How can you not love Blair? She has witty things to say, wears the best clothes and she’s smart. The girl knows how to handle a bad situation.

This is Missy. She started doing the podcast when I asked her to help out. She’s been my best friend for a very long time now and it was only natural she join too. She started out just as a guest because we live in two different cities, but I found a way to make her a permanent fixture in the show. Blair is her favorite for many reasons. She loves her sense of style, and not just in the fashion sense. She knows who she is, and what she wants and goes after it, in her own way. Plus she loves the things that come out of her mouth and how driven she is but also can and has shown a softer side. Her favorite episode is episode #206: New Haven Can Wait. She loved how the characters interacted, how we saw Serena in a new light, the beginning of the Dan and Nate love fest, and of course the catfight!

And then there is Dave – he’s brings the resident male perspective from all the way in Montreal. He has read all the GG books by Cecily von Ziegesar and after searching high and low for a superior podcast to call home, he found TGAD. After talking with me, Missy and I figured he’d have a lot to bring to our table. He’s been hooked onto the show, like way before, back when the GG idea was being pitched as a movie. His uber favorite moment from the show, though, was the Blair/Chuck hook up in “The Dark Night”. What can I say? He’s a guy! In his non-GG-related life, he sells drugs to the Canadian government.

Tyson got into Gossip Girl through his wife Missy. His favorite characters are the old people and Nate. He is not quite sure what he likes about the adults, maybe they have a more tame/mature type of drama. He does know that he likes Nate because of Nate’s nature of being a good guy. His favorite episode is #107 Victor/Victrola. Not only because it is the first taste of Bluck, but also because it is the first time we get to see the other, more responsible side of Chuck. This was the episode that really hooked him. In his spare time Tyson enjoys playing many video games, reading (almost exclusively fantasy), and watching sports. Also, he is friggin’ hilarious.
