It’s official, Chace Crawford will star in the remake of 80′s movie, Footloose. Crawford will stretch his action prowess and take on the role as Ren McCormack but we don’t know who will be playing Ariel Moore. It’s rumored that Amanda Bynes, Julianna Hough (Dancing With The Stars and country singer) and Hayden Panettiere have already auditioned for the part. But there is one starlet that doesn’t even need to audition, Miley Cyrus. Possibly because they already know she can sing and dance, but I would think they would know the same about the other girls up for the part too.
I’m really glad that Chace has gotten this part because we get to see him in something different than Nate Archibald or the drug dealer in Twelve. But I had no inkling that Mr. Crawford could even sing. He doesn’t look like the guy who will break out in song and dance like say Zac Effron. I’m interested to see his dancing skills put to the test along side of one of these leading ladies. In the original movie, Ren has some pretty serious dancing montages so it will be a nice change to Chace shaking his booty to the music. Do you think they will remake the Footloose song?
The movie will start production in March 2010, so what doesn’t that mean for the Gossip Girl season? Will Nate Archibald disappear from the Upper East Side like the first half of season 2? Are you excited to see the movie?
