And I totally feel like this season was a total write-off. If they tie together all the loose ends from this season, then maybe it can be salvaged but a good chunk of what happens this season just feel irrelevant now. Lily's a fool and Serena's... I'm done with her. I get where her pain is coming from, but she's not in highschool anymore, though apparently she hasn't grasped that yet. Tried to care about the Lola story line but I could care less. I don't even really know what she was doing with Ivy but I don't care about that either. Nate knows who GG is presumably and I hope he gets a decent story line. GG had man hands though :S Bart built up Chuck and then tore him down. I don't agree with what he said about love and being a man but I think he had a point where he pointed out that Chuck had made some poor decisions where Blair was concerned. We all do that when we love someone but to take it all away, really Bart? You should be in jail to  be honest. Blair chose him though and I was ecstatic that he didn't greet her with open arms. Sure they could be (are) endgame but Blair should really have to work for this, atleast for a little while. I was very satisfied with how they handled this "chair" stuff. Like, the way they ended Dair was just so ef up that I wonder why did they bother with having that relationship in the first place; but then again, it's sort of what happened with every minor pairing on the show (in my book, the only major couples are Serena/Dan and Chuck/Blair). The way they set up Lily going back to Bart makes me think that she's going to have some sort of breakdown in the next season which will lead to her and Rufus getting back together (sidenote: why the ef did they have to mess with them?! is it because JS is gone and he was the champion of that relationship?). I have mix feelings about Serena going back to her old ways because on one had it's been a recurring theme during the whole show, but on the other it could lead to the gang teaming up to save her, which is been used and abused in my opinion. I was ROFL when they show the GG video bc it looked like a PLL outtake (they even had the black hoodie!!!) but on the long run, unless they come up with a pretty good storyline surrounding who she is and why she's going after the gang (like they did with Juliet), I don't care about her being "unmAsked". The one thing I really liked about the whole ep were the parallels with the first season, like the divorce party, the S making out with B's current BF, everyone going back to the way they were at the pilot at the end of the ep, among others. The one sad part is that they probably evisioned Jenny eventually teaming up with Blair to run her mother's company, but because TM is a b it just didn't happen. I was ok with bringing him back if he was going to be a source of happiness. It was stupid that he sat back and let Chuck go through all that crap but I was fine with his organized crime story. I am very mad that he's been brought back just as a source of conflict. It's great that Chuck and Jack will be teaming up again though. I just could not believe that Bart was still the same basshole. He held the Blair/hotel thing against Chuck when it was Jack who caused that! He praised Chuck for keeping the business up but then called him a child. I really enjoyed all of the Eleanor and Blair scenes and how Blair was finally on the path of becoming a powerful woman like she wanted at the end of season 4. I just wish this story line was the focus of season 5 instead of a last minute story line. I also enjoyed the scene at the very end with Chuck and Blair I liked that she chose him but it was not in a romantic way just yet. It looks like they are starting over on a clean slate and not jumping into a relationship so soon which was a good thing. Blair should be able to be alone and focus on taking over her mother's company while rebuilding her relationship with Chuck. I am really looking forward to S6, it looks like Serena is heading down a downward spiral that should be interesting to watch. And I was actually shocked that Lily chose Bart over Rufus I really did not see that one coming. It also sucked we never got to meet the Shepard's after all this time. Other than that the episode was really all over the place and leaves a lot of answers as to why Bart did what he did. They have a lot to explain in 11 eps. But it looks like Jack and Chuck are teaming up along with Blair to take Bart down that should be fun. I thought the episode was ok. Probably not as much as I liked the previous one but it was still alright. My major complaint would be that everything felt rushed. From Bart's explanation to Diana leaving, I found myself saying "Quoi?" most of the time. Like we (or maybe just I) don't know what the point of having the photograph of Elizabeth and Jack was. And the Andrew Tyler stuff just made me laugh. The whole storyline was just odd and I don't think I'll know how I really feel until the season finale because we're not quite done with this yet (as seen in the Canadian promo). It's also a bit annoying how they play with B and S' relationship. We FINALY see them come together as BFFs after so long only to have them ripped apart. I'm kind of tried of seeing them fight, over a guy with mop hair no less. Dan's hair- I actually gasped. Epic Lord of the Rings music was playing in my head when he walked out the bathroom. This only confirms my theory that GG is, to a extend, a reimagining of that show, at least character wise. I mean: Brenda-Blair, the bitchy brunette with the devious mind who doesn't mess around crap Kelly-Serena, the naive/slutty blonde, who is frenemies with the brunette Brandon-Dan, the self-righteous guy who always tries to do the right thing Dylan-Chuck, the anti-hero BAMF guy with a dark past Steve-Nate, the dude whose only job is to be eye-candy, and every now and then to work with the gang David-Jenny, the young one who wants to get into the it-crowd really bad Andrea-Vanessa-the self-righteous chick who is kind of annoying I'm pretty sure our resident podcasters have made this analogy in the past, but it didn't hit me until tonight. So yeah, kind of a good episode, but they need to add more OMG moments in the last two for me to be blown away. PS. Kudos Angela for calling out Bart coming back from the dead! I kinda liked the episode, but I do have a couple of issues with it:
-First of all, it gets me mad that Dan was on a separated corner during the whole thing, which makes me think theyt might write him off at the end of the season, or maybe pull a OTH and turning him into a guest star for season 6.
- While I did like the big reveal at the end, I can’t get over how similiar this is from the original 90210 story where Dylan’s dad comes back from the dead. This only confirms my theory that GG is, to a extend, a reimagining of that show, at least character wise. I mean:
Brenda-Blair, the bitchy brunette with the devious mind who doesn’t mess around crap
Kelly-Serena, the naive/slutty blonde, who is frenemies with the brunette
Brandon-Dan, the self-righteous guy who always tries to do the right thing
Dylan-Chuck, the anti-hero BAMF guy with a dark past
Steve-Nate, the dude whose only job is to be eye-candy, and every now and then to work with the gang
David-Jenny, the young one who wants to get into the it-crowd really bad
Andrea-Vanessa-the self-righteous chick who is kind of annoying
I’m pretty sure our resident podcasters have made this analogy in the past, but it didn’t hit me until tonight.
So yeah, kind of a good episode, but they need to add more OMG moments in the last two for me to be blown away.
