Last night (June 8, 2009) the young Hollywood Awards were presented in Santa Monica and Ed Westwick was among the winners. Westwick won 2009 Young Hollywood Breakthrough Male.
This is great news for Ed Westwick and the cast of Gossip Girl because it shows that people are paying attention. This also validates our petition to get Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick nominated for an Emmy. If Ed Westwick is picking up YH awards people might actually be taking notice and we already know they submitted the information to the academy.
I will admit I am a little bummed not to see Leighton Meester recognized at these awards because I also think she is phenomenal. But her time will come.
