first of all I wanna say that the Josh who’s Twitter was taken over by crazy Chair shippers was Schwartz, while the Josh that gave interviews with S Savage was Safran.

Also, I don’t think the interviews were “pro Chair.” If anything, they tried to keep their mouths shut and not reveal what will happen and said many good things about Dair and how it’d been planned for a long time.

I do not agree about the Chuck and Serena thing. MANY fans still support Chuck even though his behaviour is riddiculously wrong.

Dan likes her scheming side, but not the dark-crazy one that chuck brings up. He simply sees that she is more than just schemes.

I refuse to fall into Blair’s denial. She obviously felt something for Dan, otherwise she would have taken Chuck back the moment he went to look for her to talk. She shoved him off, and she went into denial.

If both Serena and Chuck are doing crap and they don’t even fix anything at all, then how can anyone want Dan and Blair to go back to them? I don’t get it… they are fine, perfect, without them.

The whole Chair sends a bad message to be honest… no one should go back to a guy who treated Blair like Chuck did. Wanting a fairytale is obviously something that’s being played because of the prince, but I bet Blair will realize that the prince does not compare to the Labrador.

Whatever, I got tired of listening to you making excuses for chuck and Blair to actually EVER fit. You need to get another perspective, not even a fully Dair one, but at least someone who does not expect the Chair *endgame*

First off, I would like to thank you for the comment because it encourages discussion. I appreciate that you took the time to comment on something, whether it was positive or negative because all I want to do is talk about the show in a healthy forum and not be attacked.

Secondly, Josh Schwartz did have some small snippet interviews where Stephanie Savage and Josh Safran did a big bulk of the interviews. Do you remember a spoiler talking about Josh Schwartz wanting his twitter back? That’s when he did give a small interview. But yes Stephanie Savage and Josh Safran were taking the the GG spin mill to get their message out about Chair and everything happening. And they did a lot of interviews about Dair too.

If you’re talking about why I, ANGELA, thought Dair was over (and it greatly disappoints me because I WANT more and still haven’t given up the hope) is because The Pauper was barely part of that Midnight promo. But promos can be deceiving and I hope that I totally read that wrong.

I also don’t disagree with you about Blair’s denial of her feelings. I was deeply upset when she said it was a life changing moment that made her realize she wants to be with Chuck. What’s up with that? Dan was definitely used as emo road kill in this situation. I agree, she HAD to have felt something for Dan because 1. she defended Dan to Chuck and 2. her whole demeanor changed after the incident with Chuck when she was talking to Dan. She obviously cares for him, but I think she’s scared and handled the situation with Dan all wrong. Like I said in the podcast, I think it’s weird that Blair is trying to hold on to the idea of the perfect fairytale which in her mind means marrying a rich man and getting all the things she wants in life without worry. But is the realistic? And that’s where Dan comes in. She might have realized that she’s falling for someone who doesn’t fit into that fairy tale and it completely scared her.

You said you got tired of us making excuses to make Chuck and Blair fit? This doesn’t make sense to me because we were all upset there wasn’t more Dair, especially after where the episode left off from the break. We’ve had episodes of build up with Dan and Blair and they are absolutely adorable and I don’t want that to end. And what’s wrong with wanting a Chair endgame? This story line has been in the works since season one and where I really don’t care if they are end game or not, it’s something that I expect. Otherwise, why would it have been the focus of the show for SO LONG? I also expect a Dan and Serena end game of some kind because it was the basis of the show right? And I know end games don’t always work out the way the way we think they will like Dawson and Joey (Dawson’s Creek) became Joey and Pacey and there wasn’t a Marissa and Ryan (The OC) because Marissa died. But it’s all about the progression and I think these characters are growing and changing every day which defines the story. Blair and Chuck have a lot of back and forth going on and when they are right they are RIGHT and cute and make you want to believe in their love. But lately they have been absolutely toxic in each others lives and I don’t think they should be together right now. Blair and Chuck are going to be one of those epic TV couples that people talk about years from now, so it would be nice to see them evolve into something that might actually work.

And lastly, the people on this podcast are a collection of people that I’ve met over the years. The hosts have changed many times, but we are still here to talk about Gossip Girl. Sometimes we agree and sometimes we don’t. It’s not about picking people based on their end game preferences because that can change from week to week or season to season. Opinions belong to the people that voice them! So I could have people fill out a form and tell me what their opinion is on Gossip Girl and put them on the show so they can talk. But what guarantees their opinion will stay the same the entire time they are on the podcast? There is no guarantee because I know my opinion has changed many many times in the 3 years I have done this podcast. In the beginning I didn’t care about Chuck and Blair and definitely didn’t want that to happen. But I always wanted to say, this podcast is a labor of love. It takes time and commitment and I have found the best people to talk about this show with me. They show up every week on time and prepare for the show and talk about something they love. That is all that I can as for. These girls show the same level of commitment to this podcast as I do and after doing this for a few years…it’s refreshing to finally have it all come together. These people have become some great friends to me and I appreciate them every day because they’ve helped me keep this podcast going and keep me motivated to put the work into each week. So I don’t pick people for the podcast based on their “ships” because there is so much more that goes into this each week…more than you will ever know.

    Thanks for your comment!

I’d just like to point out that while I *am* a Chair fan/shipper, I did say a few times in the podcast that I wanted the Dair thing to last for a while.

Do I want Chuck and Blair to be “endgame?” Yes. I’ve been watching Gossip Girl since day one, and have cared about this couple since episode #1.07. Chuck is also my favorite character and I *do* believe that he can/will grow into a good man. We’ve seen snippets of it in the past, and I really want to see that happen. Eventually. I think that they have a lot of growing to do first, however, on account of the fact that they have been, as Angela said in her comment, a very toxic relationship recently. I don’t think they’ll be able to work out unless they’re apart for a while and are able to grow away from the games and schemes they play when together.

For now, I would like to continue to see the Dan/Blair dynamic. I do believe that they care about each other very much, and that we didn’t get to see enough of them. I said that a few times in the podcast as well.

As far as the podcast being very one-sided in terms of ships, I’m going to have to respectfully disagree. While all of us may believe that certain ships will work out in the end based on what we’ve seen happening on the show over the years, each of us have different opinions about each of the characters and couples. That is the beauty of having a podcast like this. We can discuss each storyline from *all* of our perspectives. Sometimes we agree and sometimes we don’t, but we do all of that with respect of each other and our listeners.

I definitely agree about the slow start, which reiterates to me how bad the constant breaks are. They make the writers feel the need to “begin” again, always introducing new characters and story arcs; and, for whatever reason, those beginnings ate infamously boring.

I’m a DB fan, which I think I’ve stated on this site before. But, I don’t think it matters who you ship–you’ve got to recognize the awesomeness of that epic promo. I feel like that little piece of concentrated drama may end up being better than the actual episodes, lol. ;)

I don’t remember the clothes from the episode too much (it’s been a week since I saw it), but I do know that I keep wishing Blair wore more eye makeup. Maybe it’s from watching the first season again, when she always had gorgeously smokey eyes.
