Episode #8: Pret-A-Poor-J
- The episode starts off with Blair fantasizing about Chuck. Darota comes in to wake up her, but Blair tells her she needs to finish something. Darota tells her not to forget God is always watching.
- Jenny frantically getting ready for work. She’s on the phone with an Italian company that didn’t ship her order in time. Jenny says Eleanor is going to be upset. Jenny is trying to collect all her things but can’t find her sketch pad. She goes into the bathroom to look for it, but meets a bare chested Nate.
- Blair is walking to school and Chuck rolls by her and stops. He said he was too hasty in his decision about making Blair say I love you. But when Blair gives in she learns Chuck is tricking her. He still wants to hear those words.
- At work, Jenny makes friends with the new model Agnes. Eleanor also says Jenny can’t meet with the buyers today because she wants Jenny to finish making a dress. Jenny is upset because she wants to be in on the process. Nate finds Jenny’s sketchpad and brings it to the atelier.
- Dan and Serena are becoming friends. They are talking at school when Blair interrupts their conversation. Dan tries to leave, but Serena says Blair could use a male perspective on her problems with Chuck. Dan tells Blair she should just say to get what she wants, but Blair doesn’t want Chuck to win. Blair says she was thinking about making herself invisible for awhile so Chuck will miss her. Dan advises against it and tells her to be more available.
- Eleanor apologizes to Jenny for keeping her out of the meeting. She says the meetings with buyers aren’t going too well. They want to know what Eleanor has planned for next season and she has nothing. Eleanor mentioned how the buyer from Bloomingdales was interested in the dress Jenny was wearing, which is an original design. Jenny apprehensively offers up her dress design. Eleanor wants her to remake the dress in her fabrics. This is a problem because Jenny didn’t make a pattern for the dress so she’ll have to start from scratch.
- Blair makes herself more available to Chuck by waiting for him on his limo. She flashes some leg and Chuck agrees to have a drink with her. Blair practically throws herself at Chuck, but he’s not buying into. He says he’s bored and leaves.
- Serena goes to the gallery looking for Dan. They were going out to dinner. She meets Aaron, the artist that is opening at the gallery. They flirt a little and Serena teases him about proof reading his exhibit explanation before putting in on the wall.
- Vanessa is puzzled to why Dan is getting a call from Blair. He explains he is trying to help with something. Vanessa still doesn’t understand.
- Meanwhile, Blair calls Dan to blame him for what just happened to her. Dan said Blair has him just where she wants him and tells her to intercept him at home.
- Jenny goes out with Agnes that night knowing she needs to make the dress of Eleanor. Agnes loves Jenny’s dress and insists on wearing it. They go into the bathroom the change. Agnes’ boyfriend Max shows up and he immediately starts taking pictures of the girls.
- Serena and Dan are trying to talk but Blair keeps texting Serena about the situation with Chuck. Dan seems to be getting a little annoyed.
- Blair is waiting for Chuck but she uses Serena as a cover. She says Serena knew she was upset and didn’t want her to be alone so she invited Blair to spend the night. Blair is trying to seduce Chuck and it’s working until Blair gets a text from Serena and Chuck finds out what is really going on.
- Agnes is trying to get Jenny to stay out to meet her friends that are stylist. Jenny doesn’t want to stay because she needs to go work on the dress. Agnes leaves the bar wearing the dress Jenny needs as a pattern.
- The next morning Agnes shows up to the atelier and apologizes to Jenny about taking the dress. She also tells Jenny she shouldn’t give the dress to Eleanor because it’s a great design and Eleanor shouldn’t take credit for it. Jenny is freaking out because she is still trying to finish the dress. Agnes shows Jenny the pictures from the night before and says they could be an ad campaign.
- Serena brings Blair to the gallery to talk to Dan. Serena sneaks off to see Aaron while Dan and Blair talk. She admits to him that she loves Chuck. Dan tells her to tell Chuck how she feels because telling Serena he loved her was the best moment of his life. Blair says she doesn’t want to be just another girl to Chuck.
- Jenny gives Eleanor the dress she made, but it’s sloppy and Eleanor takes note of it. She tells Jenny to go home because she looks a mess and Jenny gets upset because she was supposed to sit through the meeting with buyers for Bendel’s and Barney’s. Jenny tells her she is lucky she doesn’t quit. Eleanor calls her child and tells her she’s lucky that she doesn’t fire her. Jenny asks for her fashion show dress back. Eleanor won’t give it to her but she takes it anyway.
- Blair sends Chuck a text saying he wins and that she has something to tell him. He’s going to meet her at the gallery.
- At the gallery opening, Rufus is glad of the great showing. Blair and Serena show up to the opening. Rufus comments on how Blair doesn’t seem like someone who he would be friends with. Dan tells him he is doing because he is trying to be friends with Serena. Meanwhile, Vanessa is upset about Blair being at her opening.
- Serena finds Aaron and they flirt more. He asks her out but she says she’s not dating right now. He asks her to tell her the fate of Cecil the Caterpillar and when she answers he’ll go out with her. Serena seems confused.
- Blair is going to the roof to meet Chuck when Dan stops her. He tells her she needs to make sure Chuck is done playing games before she tells him anything. Dan says his relationship with Serena was different than the one she has with Chuck, but Blair disagrees and says it’s the same.
- Agnes shows up at the opening with Max. She thinks Jenny should do her own clothing line and wants her to meet the editors of Nylon who want to do a feature on Jenny. Agnes says she will model and Max will take the pictures. Jenny agrees to meet her friend and is leaving the opening when she runs into Nate. He was hoping to hang out with her, but she’s always busy. She tells Nate about her plans of starting her own clothing line but Nate tries to talk some sense into her. Jenny doesn’t want to listen though.
- Blair and Chuck meet on the roof, but Dan must have gotten in her head because she’s hesitant to say anything to Chuck. He thinks she’s just playing another game with her, but she says he’s the one playing games. She goes on about how she asked him to say it first and how she waited for him the previous summer. Chuck said he started the game and she was the one who finished it.
- Nate meets Aaron and asks about Max. Aaron says Max is great as long as he’s not dating your little sister.
- Blair comes down crying and Serena is trying to figure out what happened. Dan says Blair and Chuck were going to self-destruct anyway, so he just helped it along. He admitted he is upset about what they did to Vanessa. Serena says he was wrong and they really care for each other. She only brought Blair to talk to him because she knew he could help her be brave.
- Agnes and Max make out and Jenny feels uncomfortable and says she can leave. Agnes tells her to stay and they start messing around. Max starts to take pictures and the next thing we know Agnes loses her shirt and she’s trying to convince Jenny to take hers off. And Jenny gives in.
- Dan tries to talk to Chuck. He says he doesn’t know how Chuck feels about Blair, but he knows Blair has real feelings for him and he was the one who stopped Blair from saying anything to him.
- Meanwhile, Jenny and Agnes are having a good time taking pictures and there is a knock on the door. Agnes goes to open the door and it’s Nate. He is surprised at what is going on. Nate says she should leave, but Jenny says she wasn’t ready to leave. Nate sits down and says he can wait.
- Dan apologizes to Serena and she says he should have been honest with her. There friendship isn’t going to work out unless they talk to each other. Serena then tells him about Aaron asking her out. Serena then realizes that she went to camp with Aaron in Europe and that is how she knew him which explained why he asked about Cecil the Caterpillar.
- Serena goes back to find Aaron but he is leaving on his motorcycle with another girl.
- Meanwhile Chuck goes to see an upset Blair. He says if they say those words to each other it will be the end, not the beginning of something. For them, it’s all about the game and they would eventually mess things up. He would rather wait for the future. They kiss and he leaves. Blair is left crying.
- Jenny leaves and when outside, she yells at Nate. He tells her that guy was taking advantage of her. Jenny asks why he cares so much. Nate then kisses her. She pulls away and he pulls her back. They close the show with their make out session.
