Episode #9: There Might Be Blood



•    The episode starts off with Jenny sewing frantically.  Agnes is telling her she needs to hurry up.  They also talk about Nate who Jenny says hasn’t said a word to her all week.  He’s avoiding her.
•    Nate and Dan are talking about how Jenny is up to something locked away in her room.  Nate seems distant throughout the whole conversation.  They are supposed to be going to the movies, but Dan receives a text from Jordan, they Yale TA that Nate doesn’t seem to remember.  Dan says he can’t concentrate on a movie and asks Nate to find out what Jenny is up to.
•    Serena and Blair are at Elizabeth Boardmen’s home.  Dean Bearby wanted Serena to meet the Boardmens and Serena bought Blair along to impress Mrs. Boardmen and hopefully get in a good word to the Dean.  Blair is cracking her knuckles and Mrs. Boardmen doesn’t seem impressed.  There is casual conversation about their daughter and Serena offers up Blair to take Emma to a movie.
•    When leaving the Boardmen’s Serena runs into Aaron.  He asks about Cecil and Serena says she remembered right about the time he was leaving with another girl on his motorcycle.  Aaron says that was just his friend and Serena is about to ask him out, but then another girl comes in and steals a kiss from him.
•    Jenny and Agnes are trying to get out of the loft when they run into Dan and Nate.  Jenny tells him she quit working for Eleanor and tonight she is putting on a guerilla fashion show.  She asks Dan not tell Rufus, because she is going to tell him after the fashion show.
•    Blair asks Emma what movie she wants to see, when Emma comes out in party clothes.  Emma says her friend Muffy is losing her virginity to the lacrosse captain tonight and she wants to lose hers too.  She threatens Blair into taking her out to bars with her fake ID and credit card.
•    Serena is looking through her old camp things when Blair comes in to tell her about Emma.  She’s less Holly Hobby and more Jenna Jamison. Serena suggests that Blair bring her to the gala so Emma won’t have the opportunity for lose her virginity.
•    Dan goes to talk to Vanessa and tells her Jenny’s plan.  Vanessa tells him to let her do her thing because she seems to know what to do.  They talk about Nate and Vanessa avoids Dan question about her still having feeling for Nate.  Dan tells her she should tell Nate how she feels because he’s a good guy. Rufus walks in on the tail end of the conversation.
•    Emma runs into Chuck in the hallway and she’s enamored by him.  She’s read about him on Gossip Girl.  Chuck also spills the secret about the gala and how there are only going to be old people there and Emma opts to hang out with Chuck for the night.
•    Aaron sends Serena a licorice ring.  While Serena is opening it, Blair goes to look for Emma but she’s already with Chuck.  Blair is trying to get Serena to find out where they went but she’s not having luck.  Serena even had her picture posted on Gossip Girl.  Meanwhile, Emma is trying to lose her virginity in the back of Chuck’s limo.
•    Nate tries to stop Jenny from doing whatever it is she’s going to do.  Jenny says if she doesn’t do this she’s going to be like Constance Lil J all over again, except this time people are going to know she failed.  She tells him if he cares about her, he needs to prove it and come with her.  When Nate is getting in the van, Dan, Vanessa and Rufus see him and try to stop them, but it’s too late.
•    Jenny is looking for financial backers for her clothing line and picked the New York Philanthropic Society Annual Gala as the place for her fashion show.  Nate is impressed that she’s done her research because Jenny knew exactly who was going to be there.
•    Chuck comes back to the house to find Serena and Blair mid-panic.  Chuck says Emma assaulted him but realized that Chuck wasn’t going to deflower her and bolted to 1 Oak.
•    They all go to the bar to find Emma and they find her with an older guy Serge.  They get distracted when the bar owner sees Serena and Emma sees this as a good time for a quick exit.  Blair chases after her, but doesn’t get very far.  Emma is gone.
•    To get into the Gala, Jenny says her name is Erica Van Der Woodsen and mentions how people sometimes forget the A and her parents are the guest of honor.  Lily is surprised to see her there and asks who she is with.  Nate steps in to say she’s his date.  Jenny gets nervous when she she’s Lily and Bart are getting an award that night.  She doesn’t want to ruin the night of people who have been nothing but nice to her.  Nate says it’s not too late to back out, but Jenny says this is her last chance. Nate grabs Jenny and kisses her and someone snaps a picture for Gossip Girl.  Nate says he doesn’t regret what happened last week and he’s with Jenny whatever she decides to do.
•    They still can’t find Emma and Blair starts to blame Serena for ruining her future again.  Serena said she wouldn’t have gotten another chance if it wasn’t for her.  Then Chuck gets information that Emma is still there, but instead of finding Emma, they find Mrs. Boardmen making out with a younger man.  Blair snaps the picture.
•    Dan does end up telling Rufus what Jenny is up to, but they have no idea where she is going.  Dan sees the picture of Nate and Jenny kissing on Gossip Girl and knows where they are.  He hides the picture from Rufus and Vanessa, but Vanessa looks suspicious. On the way to the Palace, Vanessa is taking up for Nate saying he wouldn’t allow anything bad to happen.  Dan disagrees saying Nate’s morals are questionable.  Vanessa is wondering why Dan is so down on Nate now.  When they get there they aren’t on the list, but Lily sees them and lets them in.  Bart doesn’t look to happy to see Rufus there.
•    Back at the bar, Blair is thanking God for the picture and says something about not letting him down.  Serena says Blair can’t blackmail this woman to get in Yale.  Serena says Emma is acting out because of her parents and this family needs help.  Serena says she has to go but makes Blair promise she is going to save Emma before enacting any scheme.
•    Dan finds Nate and he’s upset.  He pins Nate against the wall and asks what he’s doing with his 15 year old sister.  Dan also mentions he knows about the Catherine debacle and Nate says Dan has no right to judge him.  Dan tells Nate to go back up his stuff because he wanted him gone from the Humphreys.
•    Blair and Chuck find out that Emma is going to Serge’s apartment.  Chuck sends a message to Gossip Girl about Muffy getting stuffed and Gossip Girl posts it.  Blair tells Emma to check Gossip Girl and this immediately stops Emma.  Muffy lost her virginity first and now Emma wants nothing to do with Serge.
•    On her way to Gala, Serena calls Aaron and he’s left her a personal message saying he doesn’t have a girlfriend.  Serena is buying it and leaving a message to give him another chance, but a girl picks up the phone.  Serena says he almost had her and tells the girl not tell Aaron she called.
•    Nate is trying to leave the Gala because of what Dan said.  Jenny seems alarmed that Rufus and Dan are there, but the show must go on.  Lily and Bart are getting their award when the lights go down and the models come out.  Instead of people getting mad, they are enjoying it.  People like what they see.  Rufus and Dan are surprised.  Vanessa seems really happy for Jenny. Jenny runs to Nate and they kiss, but this time Vanessa sees.  Jenny tries to run after her but Nate tries to get her to stay.  But she still chases after Vanessa.
•    Blair tells Emma losing her virginity is something special and shouldn’t be given up in a competition.  It should be shared with someone she loves.  Emma asks if her first time was with someone she loves.  Blair also says she shouldn’t act out because of her mother.  She encourages Emma to tell her how she feels.  They bond over their mother problems.
•    Dan finally talks to Jordan, but there is no good news.  None of the professors liked his story.  Serena walks up on Dan and he says it looks like Jenny is the only one with guts in his family.  Dan says Jenny alienated everyone in her life, but she’ll end up on the front page of the New York times in the morning.  He tells Serena he’s not going to get into Yale or any other school with a decent writing program. Serena says that’s not true.
•    Blair takes Emma home but Mrs. Boardmen is furious because it’s late and doesn’t believe that Blair took her to the movies. She says Blair isn’t Yale material. Emma tries to jump in to explain but her mother doesn’t listen.  In fact, Mrs. Boardmen is really mean to Emma.  Blair was just about to show her the picture when Mrs. Boardmen says, “You’re lecturing me. No wonder I don’t want to spend any time with you.” Blair tells her she has a great daughter and she should pay more attention to her before it too late.
•    Rufus is upset with Jenny and says she can’t go through life hurting people to get what she wants. Jenny says she has 32 missed calls on her phone not because people are angry with her but because they want to help her.  Rufus makes her apologize to Lily, but she isn’t mad.  Lily says it was amazing and inspiring.  Rufus doesn’t like that too much and starts to turn Jenny in to the cops, but Lily jumps in and says she won’t be pressing any charges.  Rufus tells Lily it is none of her business.  Jenny tells them to figure it out and leaves.
•    The next morning, Nate is back at his house when Chuck walks in.  He’s surprised to see nothing is there.  Chuck tries to get him to go home with him, but Nate says no.  He’s going to stay with his mom.
•    Blair is upset because she knows she’s not getting into Yale now, but then she receives a call from Dean Bearaby.  Apparently Emma told him that Blair is the person would most likely want to eat dinner with.  He told her Yale could use a girl like Blair Waldorf.
•    Meanwhile, Aaron came to visit Serena.  Serena tells him she doesn’t want to date anyone with a posse.  He said he could explain, but he thinks its fates way of brining them back together.  They agree to go on a date that night.
•    Rufus goes to talk to Dan and he’s writing his story for Noah Shapiro about Chuck.  Rufus thought he was against that, but Dan said it wasn’t the time to give him the slow and steady speech after Jenny accomplished so much the night before.  Rufus says he wishes him and Jenny could understand that people praising them will go away and they have to live with the person they become.  Dan says that’s a choice he is willing to take.  Rufus goes to talk to Jenny, but she’s already packed up all her stuff.  She’s gone.
•    The episode ends with Blair and Serena looking at the Yale course catalog, Nate is mailing a letter to Jenny, Dan mails his story to Mr. Shapiro, and Jenny is walking the street with her sewing machine and a bag.
