3.05 – Rufus Getting Married

Dan continues to dodge Georgina’s advances until Vanessa tells him that if he doesn’t give in to her, Georgina will tell Rufus and Lily the truth about Scott. (Yes, this means Dan finally found out the truth as well but he’s less than surprised and more than okay with it.) Georgina doesn’t believe Dan when he tries to make nice, so she has Scott come back to town.

Despite petty arguments and a bleak outlook for their future, Rufus and Lily decide to wed…on a day’s notice! Dan, Serena, Eric and Jenny work almost frantically to make this happen as they truly believe it’s the best thing for their parents. As Lily and Rufus have a fight right when they’re supposed to walk down the aisle, Georgina walks up and drops the bombshell that Scott is their son. Lily and Rufus are both understandably shocked but also pleased. They end up tying the knot back at the Humphrey Loft, where they also welcome Scott as a member of their family.

Carter admits to Serena that he hasn’t been entirely truthful about his past: he got in a lot of trouble with Bree’s family and now they’ve come to get revenge. Serena’s faith in him is shaken, and she rebuffs his efforts when he swears he wants to be with her and change who he is. Nate is quite upset when he finds out Bree was just using him to get to Carter. He sends her packing, but her family still intends to get their revenge. Looks like Serena and Nate will be unlucky in love…together.
