3.22 – Last Tango, Then Paris

This recap is by www.teendramawhore.com

This episode started the morning after we left off last week. A very pregnant Dorota cautions Blair that if she doesn’t go to the Empire State Building tonight, she will lose Chuck forever. Blair remains disinterested and makes Dorota promise to chaperone her daytime date with Cameron to make sure they go nowhere near the ESB.

Nate and Jenny wake up in bed together but nothing happened. In fact, Nate fell asleep while Jenny was mid-sentence. Jenny has realized she and Nate will remain just friends and excuses herself, before Chuck urges Nate to make things right with Serena, just as he’s trying to do with Blair.

Turns out, though, Serena had a bed buddy, too…and something did happen: a kiss. Jenny arrives at the loft to see S and Dan sound asleep in his bed and snaps a picture before taking off. S and D awake and rapidly assure each other it was a meaningless mistake and they won’t tell anyone. Too bad Little J has sent the picture to Gossip Girl and everyone gets the alert. Blair chastizes Serena for her actions but soon realizes Jenny was responsible for the blast. She pays J a visit, telling her that messing with Serenate is unacceptable. Nate confronts Serena, who insists nothing actually happened with Dan and she’s committed to their relationship. Dan, very upset with his sister, tells Rufus she’s out of control and must be stopped. Rufus decides to send Jenny to stay with Allison in Hudson for the summer…and the rest of high school.

Blair runs into Dan and questions his actions, as well, just as she did with Serena. Dan admits he’s wondering if what happened with S and all that’s going on now is a sign. Speaking of signs, Blair spots the ESB in the skyline and decides she will go meet Chuck after all. Dorota’s baby has other plans in mind, and decides this is the opportune time to come into the world. Blair and Dan rush Dorota to the hospital, where Dorota pleads with Blair to go to the ESB. She sets off…only to find that Chuck has already come and gone.

Jenny, devastated that her dad is sending her away and the blast blew up in her face (no pun intended), seeks comfort in Nate. Except Nate isn’t there. Chuck is. The two bond over their misery before falling into a kiss. Cut to Jenny in Chuck’s bed with Chuck asking if she’s okay and letting her know she doesn’t have to leave. Knock, knock. Who’s there? Blair. She confesses to Chuck she went to meet him but she was late. He’s thrilled she’s come back to him…and relieved when he realizes Jenny snuck out.

At the hospital, Serena and Dan again discuss their mistake, and Nate overhears, realizing something did happen between them. Nate points out that people don’t kiss unless they have feelings for each other. He decides to email Vanessa in Haiti and let her know what’s going on. Serena ends up breaking up with Nate, saying she needs time alone to figure things out. Eric finds Jenny crying alone at the hospital and realizes she slept with Chuck. He runs to get Dan, since she is so distraught.

Chuck and Blair arrive at the hospital, where she notes how perfect the day has become. Chuck apologizes for the pain he’s caused and says he wants to make it up to her. He takes out an engagement ring box…and gets punched by Dan. Blair demands to know what’s going on but Jenny’s crying face and Chuck’s scared face tells her all she needs to know. Blair tells Jenny to get out of Manhattan and never come back, lest she wants to be destroyed. Chuck explains he thought they were over forever and Blair makes it clear that they are now.

One week later, Blair is packing for a summer trip to Paris and convinces Serena to join her. Rufus, Dan, Lily and Eric say goodbye to a seemingly happier Jenny before she sets off on a train. Dan and Nate make amends, with the latter choosing to help himself to Chuck’s little black book and dull his pain and loneliness with call girls. Dan plans on writing a long apologetic letter to Vanessa….until he hears Serena and Nate broke up. He promptly calls S, who is ecstatic to share she’s headed to Paris and will be back in September. Lonely Boy decides he doesn’t want to spend the summer alone and promptly begins looking up AirFrance. He’s interrupted when Georgina walks in. Georgina, who previously paid quick visits to Blair and Chuck earlier in the episode, hinting that she was in trouble and needed help, takes off her coat to reveal a fairly significant baby belly. She takes out sonogram photos and tells Dan he’s going to be a father. Chuck is roaming around Prague at night–yes, Prague–and is about to mingle with some ladies when two guys grab him. As one guy holds him back, the other goes through his pockets. They find the engagement ring box and Chuck pleads with them not to take it, offering money instead. Chuck continues to beg…until they shoot him. The episode and season ends with Chuck bleeding on the ground.
