3.03 – The Lost Boy
The episode starts off with Blair calling Chuck for a booty call but he’s not answering the phone. She’s going to pick up her books and head out when she walks in on Dan and Georgina hooking up. Blair obviously didn’t understand what the sock on the door meant.
I’m wearing a glove and I still want to wash my hands.
When leaving, Dan bums into Serena on his walk of shame, but instead of admitting it was a walk of shame he says he was visiting Vanessa until pops her head out of her room. It’s obvious that Vanessa had no idea he was there. Serena hopes that Dan isn’t hooking up with Georgina and Vanessa hopes Dan isn’t hooking up with Blair. While talking to Dan she tells him that Scott is at his Comp Theory seminar that is so hard to get into, but Dan tells her it’s in the afternoon. Vanessa starts to think something is up with Scott. Vanessa calls him to ask if he wants to meet up but he lies and says he has class, but he’s really hanging out with Rufus getting guitar lessons.
Serena tells Dan she’s dating Carter and Serena just wants to make sure Dan knows what he’s doing. He tells her that he needs to tell Georgina that it’s just a casual thing because she can go from zero to crazy when something doesn’t go the way she plans.
When they part ways Serena goes to meet Carter. He says he wants to spend some time with her this weekend at The Downing Hotel. But then a girl walks up to Carter and says they had sex last month. She slaps him but Carter says he doesn’t know the girl, but Serena doesn’t believe him. She was going to invite him to the Sotheby’s auction that her family is attending, but after seeing that she changed her mind.
Vanessa goes to see if Scott is enrolled at the school, but she soon finds out that he’s not and she grows even more suspicious.
Blair goes to Chuck’s for the breakfast booty call, but he turns her down because he’s got a big meeting that morning. He doesn’t want to lose focus. Blair is upset because he hasn’t made time for her in five days and leaves. But says she has no where to go because her roommate is a sock nymphomaniac and her boyfriend doesn’t have time for her. When Blair is leaving she drops her mail and it’s an invitation into a secret society. Blair is immediately happy.
Dan goes to tell Georgina that what they are doing is casual and she is surprisingly ok with it.
Serena and Blair talk about Carter and how Serena is on a free fall. Serena says Carter is different with her and that he really knows her. Blair tells her she doesn’t want to see Serena make a big mistake. To prove Blair wrong, Serena invites Carter to the auction anyway.
Chuck goes to meet with the restaurateur, Sean McPhearson. He tries to hit on the secretary to get a meeting, but she didn’t fall for it. She did give him a tip: find a way to show your respect for his past. Chuck spots a Sotheby’s book for an auction and finds a way to respect his past. The only problem is the photograph that Chuck is after, Blair is also needs for her initiation into the secret society. They both say they need the photo and are going to get it no matter what is going on.
Vanessa confronts Scott about his lying. She tells him if he doesn’t tell her what’s going on then they are done. He confesses his name is Scott Rossen and he is Lily and Rufus’ son. Scott thinks Lily and Rufus didn’t want to have anything to do with him, but she tells him the truth about how they went looking for him. And they thought he died, but Scott tells him that it was his younger brother who died. He asks Vanessa not to say anything if she cares about him.
Carter is at a hotel and he can’t pay the bill. They said he ordered very expensive room service bill and his credit card was denied. Serena said he could use her card to pay the bill because he should at least pay for the room service. Carter says he didn’t order room service and is hurt that Serena doesn’t believe that he’s changed.
Chuck goes to apologize to Blair and says both of them should stay away from the auction. He baits Blair with sex but there cover is busted. Dorota is checking out the price for Blair and Chuck has someone else working for him.
Dan goes to meet Vanessa and she tells him about Scott lying. Georgina shows up and interrupts and Vanessa leaves. Georgina wants Dan to tell her what’s up and Dan spills the beans. Georgina suggest they find out who Scott really is. They dig around on the internet for a bit using some clues Dan got from Scott and they find out that Scott is Dan’s New Yorker fan!
Scott tells Vanessa that he doesn’t want to tell Rufus alone so he asks Vanessa to be there for support. She invites him to go to the auction with her where he’s going to tell him.
Nate and Bree put on a show for the photographers after deciding now was the time for them to make their public debut. While at the action, Bree eyes Carter Baizen, but we don’t really know what is going on. She just recognizes him.
Everyone shows up the auction: Vanessa gives Scott a pep talk, Blair arrives and immediately spots Serena. She doesn’t understand why Chuck is being selfish about this photograph. Why won’t he just let her have it! Serena also tells Blair that she invited Carter to auction, but Blair says it’s a mistake. Carter will always be the same guy. Then Chuck comes up and drops some hints that he set Carter up to prove he wasn’t a good guy.
Scott’s mom shows up at the auction because before he showed he called his parents to let them know the whole story. She’s not there to detour him, she’s there to support him.
Bidding for the picture starts and Blair and Chuck fight for it. Blair says she’s going to win because Chuck is easily distracted. But in the midst of bidding, Blair and Chuck get into a fight and Serena swoops in and steals the picture with the winning bid to stick it both of them.
Scott finally has his moment to confront Rufus and his mom is there to support him…except he doesn’t tell him the truth. He says that he is Scott and he’s Andrew’s brother and he just wanted to meet his parents. Vanessa stands there stunned because she knows he didn’t tell the truth.
It finally comes out that Blair and Chuck set Carter up to prove that he really isn’t a good guy. Chuck tells Serena after the last Carter run in, Carter exchanged his ticket to Dubai for one for Greece. He was checking in and out of resorts the whole time. Serena knows what he was doing. Serena finally tells them what happened in Santorini. Serena’s dad got remarried in Santorini and Carter said he had transportation. But his idea of transportation was a stolen boat and the police stopped them which deterered them from the festivities. Carter said he would make it up to her and that must have been what he was up to. Serena calls Blair and Chuck the most self-centered damaged people she knows. She gives the picture to Blair and says she knows what to do it. Blair gives the picture to Chuck because she believes in him and he needs it to go futher in life.
When Blair shares with Serena the invitation to the secret society, Serena notices something special in the handwriting. It has Georgina written all over it. Serena goes to confront Georgina about it and she confirms she did it. She wanted to bring Blair down.
Rufus wants to take everyone to dinner, but Dan is looking for Georgina. Serena tells him that she left early with a headache which he thinks is weird because she didn’t say anything. Dan says he’s going to call her but Serena said he should call tomorrow because she has something to tell him and they all leave. But Georgina walks out and she looks upset.
The next morning Georgina calls Dan to ask about hooking up later that day, but Dan says they should take a break after finding out what Georgina did Blair.
And come to find out the secretary and the office Chuck was trying to get the deal from is a friend of Georgina’s and she passed the word along to her. That is how Georgina was able to mess things up for them.
Vanessa doesn’t want to keep Scott’s secret. He’s heading back to Boston. She wants him to promise that he will come back to tell Lily and Rufus that he’s the son, he says he can’t do that. Plus, Georgina is standing outside of the door listening to their whole conversation. She soon gets a train ticket to Boston.
Serena apologizes to Carter about what happened. Cater know the whole time that Blair and Chuck were setting him up. He said if she’s going to look for reason to bolt she’s got it, but she said she’s not looking for a way out and invites him to breakfast with her family.
Chuck is going to cash in his shares of Bass Industires to buy a hotel. Not just any hotel, but the hotel he confessed his love for Blair at. He wants to start fresh and on his own. He’s knows it’s a big risk but he knows Blair believes in him.
Bree finally gets her chance to confront Carter. He did something to her family and she’s trying to get back in good with them. Knowing where Carter is will definitely help her with her family and she tells him he can run, but her dad loves to hunt!
