As we all know, Monday will bring us the much anticipated prom episode of Gossip Girl, and I for one am excited. Of course I’m looking forward to the drama, the love connections, and the contest for Prom Queen, but what I am really looking forward to is the fashion! Prom means one thing, fancy dresses and stylish tuxes and Gossip Girl will not disappoint. Here’s a sneak peek of what our favorite Gossip Girls will be wearing to prom.

For her last high school dance Blair will be going out in style, in a one-of-a-kind custom made couture runway piece that will not be reproduced for the public to buy. Costumer for the show Eric Daman describes the look as “Old Hollywood glamour.” The dress has a corset like top that flows down into the full skirt. An intricate pattern is all over the skirt as well. My big surprise? No headband, I guess prom means not having to push the hair out of your face….or perhaps she needed space for a crown? A tear drop pendant finished off the look.

Surprisingly give the occasion, Serena went a little more modest in her prom wardrobe. She’ll be wearing a rose gown with silver embroidery dress by Dior, made of chiffon that costs a mere $19,650. Yes, that’s a comma not a period. She chose to wear her hair down and kept the accessories to a minimum with only a bracelet.

The Girls of the Steps: for this reflection episode, Daman tied in the 80s theme with the dresses of the girls. All will be wearing Phoebe Couture, including big hair accessories, bright pink colors, and lots and lots of expensive bangles.

For Chuck, he’s going old school it seems in a blue tux complete with matching bow tie and even a flower on the lapel.

If you are heading to your own prom and want to wear a dress inspired by your favorite Gossip Girl, I suggest heading over to your nearest Jessica MClintock store. McClintock has a variety of long and short gowns and even ball gowns and its amazing how similar they are to the styles of our favorite girls. Take a look.

Fashion Friday Tip: On big nights don’t pack too much into that bag. Go small, and try not to make it too flashy, its only a purse and shouldn’t be the main focus of the night, save that for the dress!
