Gossip Girl Season Finale Will Have The OMG

Hot off the press: The season three finale of Gossip Girl will feature two “OMG moments” and the finale will be unlike any other finale. There won’t be any big events this year like in season one – Lily and Bart’s wedding – or season two – graduation! All the season’s stories are going to “bear down on each other”, according to Stephanie Savage.

“It’s one of those episodes that just really moves,” she continues. “Every scene leads to the next scene in a very sort of tight and exciting way. I’m hopeful it’ll feel like a satisfying conclusion to all the stories we’ve been telling this year and also give you a sense of what season 4 will hold.”

Stephanie Savage also talked about Michelle Trachtenberg returning in the season finale as Georgina. But we might get another persona of Georgina and we’re going to find out where she’s been over the past months.

Freshman Hit “The Vampire Diaries,” “Gossip Girl,” “90210,” “Supernatural” and “America’s Next Top Model” To Return Next Season

The CW Network has given early pickups to five series for next season, including four signature dramas and the reality hit AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL. All five shows will return in Fall 2010.

The series receiving early renewals include this season’s breakout hit THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, The CW’s most-watched show (4.6 million viewers) and the network’s number one show among adults 18-34 (2.5/8). THE VAMPIRE DIARIES premiere generated the largest audience in network history for a series debut (5.7 million total viewers). THE VAMPIRE DIARIES has improved The CW’s performance Thursday at 8:00 p.m. by 114% among women 18-34 this season. The network also renewed fan favorite SUPERNATURAL, which will enter its sixth season next year. SUPERNATURAL has one of the most loyal audiences of any show on television and does heroic work in a perennially tough time period. It has improved over last season among women and adults 18-34 (29% and 8%, respectively) this season, a remarkable accomplishment for a fifth-year show.

Also given early pickups for next season are The CW’s Monday night sensation GOSSIP GIRL,which is The CW’s number one show among its target demographic of women 18-34, and Tuesday’s trend-setting drama, 90210, which sees some of TV’s largest percent increases from DVR playback, nearly doubling its women 18-34 live-only ratings once live+7 data is included. Wednesday anchor AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL will also be back for cycles 15 and 16 with superstar Tyra Banks and new groups of aspiring models. AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL continues to rank second in the competitive Wednesday 8:00 p.m. hour among young women 18-34 (3.4/10).

Who Really Cares That Taylor Momsen Smokes?

There has been so much focus on Taylor Momsen the past couple of weeks with her not really supporting the Haiti relief effort and now she’s getting busted for smoking. People are really taking this matter to heart and the only thing I can think is, who really cares?

Are we really surprised the girl smokes? She’s becoming a hot young starlet, she fronts a rock band…and have you heard the girl speak? She sounds like she’s been smoking two packs a day for the past three years! Besides, that smokers voice probably gives her the edge she’s really looking for in her music. She’s recently changed the image of Jenny Humphrey to meet her own style and it would be so Taylor Momsen to smoke at 16 anyway.

But some disturbing things have come out with the issue of smoking:

“She really has an extra responsibility to bear as an actress idolized by little girls out there. For her to be smoking sends the wrong message to kids. Evidence shows that stars do influence kids to smoke.”

Do stars really influence kids to smoke? Smoking was much more acceptable when I was growing up and I am yet to pick up a cigarette because I saw “insert your favorite movie star name here” smoking a cigarette. But should Taylor really carry the “extra responsibility” of being on a teen drama where she does much worse things than smoke? Jenny is a drug dealer; was almost raped by Chuck Bass; and stole an expensive dress to hang out with the cool kids and people are worried about smoking!

“To be honest, I don’t f–king care. I didn’t get into this to be a role model. So I’m sorry if I’m influencing your kids in a way that you don’t like, but I can’t be responsible for their actions. I don’t care.”

She had it right when she made this statement. Why do parents and adults think that everyone that is famous acts as a role model for their kids? People who are actors are doing just that, being actors. They are going to work everyday like the rest of us and they shouldn’t have an added responsibility of having to be a teen role model. The truth of the matter is, kids are influenced by their friends not the people they watch on television.

So wait, there won’t be any Basstards?

Yesterday some news hit the web that probably shook those die hard Blair and Chuck fans to their core. It has been reported through multiple sources that Blair and Chuck are going to break up this season!

I’m told Chuck does “something horrible,” and that everyone is going hate him for it.

Oh the horror! I’m sure every true Gossip Girl fan totally lost their cool when they read about this little tidbit. (Tangent: Why is that Gossip Girl fans really can’t stay away from the spoilers? We find out things we really don’t want to know, but we have to keep reading them.) But should we really be that stunned. First off, no one on Gossip Girl is allowed to be happy. Honestly, Blair and Chuck are the only couple that has managed to stay happy and drama free this long EVER on the show. Everyone should just be glad that it lasted this long.

But what could Chuck do that is so bad that is going to make us hate him? Is he going to cheat? Would we really hate him if he cheated? Cheating is so cliche, let’s go for the whole shebang and make him do something really mean and dirty! Let’s not just pretend to hate Chuck, let’s really end up hating Chuck. Let’s bring back the old Chuck Bass that was always doing something that was making fans scream at the television. There hasn’t been any of that is season three at all. But let’s dig a little deeper…

Jack Bass (Desmond Harrington) is also implicated in the end of Chair, but of course, we’d expect nothing less from the likes of that villain.

No word yet on how long this relationshipocalypse will last, but apparently it begins unfolding in either episode 17 (“Inglourious Bassterds”) or episode 18 (“The Unblairable Lightness of Being”), both of which are set to air in mid-April.

Are you surprised that Jack has anything to do with this breakup? No one really should be. Could this mean that we’ll finally find out what happened with Jack and Blair? Or did Chuck just fall into stupidity and get caught up in another one of Jack’s schemes? Jack Bass making an appearance again is going to make for good television.

Blair and Chuck was never my focus of the show but has been for so many people. People said they would stop watching the show if Blair and Chuck did not become a couple, so are people going to stop watching now that they won’t be a couple? But let’s be honest, would we have wanted them together living like a 30 year old couple when they have so much more life to tackle? That would have been boring for me and I don’t think the writers could have worked an interesting story out of that. But to each his own, what do you guys think about the break up?

Billy Baldwin Say What?

This just in but isn’t confirmed. Billy Baldwin is going to play the man Serena has been trying to get the attention of all season her long? Can Bill Baldwin pull off the style, class, and drama-filled issues that all the van der Woodsens seem to possess? When I think of a Baldwin, I don’t really think of any them playing an UES character, but that’s why it’s called acting right?

Well here are some off the details on what is to come with the return of Serena’s father:

Baldwin is joining the Gossip Girl players and apparently there’s more on his character’s plate than just a father-daughter reunion with Serena. It seems that daddio’s past relationship with Lily Rhodes van der Woodsen Bass Humphrey (Kelly Rutherford) is going to be a big part of the character’s plotline, and we’re even hearing that he’ll be coming between Lily and Rufus (Matthew Settle). Grumble, grumble.

What could this possibly mean for Lily and Serena and Lily and Rufus? Lily and Rufus’ relationship has been a joy of the season and the fact that it’s going to be trampled on kind of makes me sick. Where they are in the story has been interesting; they’ve been there, they’ve been around, they’ve been cute and they’ve kind of not been in the forefront of the issues on Gossip Girl. It took so long for Lily and Rufus to come together as one and they had such an amazing wedding (even the wedding that didn’t happen would have been GREAT)!

Yes, it’s primetime television and the number rule is that most people can not remain happy in those time slots, but they just got together! Maybe it’s too soon to rock the boat with this one.

And Serena, what is this going to do to Serena? Is she going to be happy that her father has finally returned or will she go back to her ways of trying to act out for his attention? After all, she’s not the only child he left behind. What if he likes Eric better than he likes Serena? That could open up a whole new can of worms.

There is no doubt that Mr. van der Woodsen is going to return and he’s probably going to be evil because that seems to the route of guest characters on Gossip Girl. But I guess he could have a good side to him. But with the little bit of information that has been released on this storyline, it just doesn’t look good for the van der Bass Humphrey clan.

Gossip Girl Comes Back in March With Chuck’s “Mom”

We’ve had a lot of people telling us that we’re wrong and Gossip Girl is coming back in January. I think people don’t find us as credible as another Gossip Girl site. But it’s true Gossip Girl will return March 8, 2010, this has been confirmed by many people, including the network!

But let’s move on to some spoilers:

The lady who was standing over Bart’s grave at the end of 3×12 – The Debarted is Chuck’s “mom”. She could not be who she said she is, but she may be Chuck’s mom. The former Mrs. Bass will be played by Laura Herring, but we’ll have to wait until March to find out what’s really going on. Remember, Jack Bass is coming back in the second half of the season so there is going to be plenty of drama and OMG when it comes to this storyline. Chances are Jack’s return has something to do with the return of Chuck’s mother.

Concerning the new episodes of Gossip Girl:

I read that a new Gossip Girl episode will be on Jan. 4. That’s not true, right?
We’re told that after tonight’s episode, the next new one will be Monday, March 8, per the show’s CW rep. In other more exciting Gossip Girl news, I’m told Serena’s father will come back sometime toward the end of the season. And sadly, for all you who write in week after week asking if there will be some hot and steamy Chuck and Blair sex scenes coming up, I’m still not hearing of anything scantily clad or scandalous. Now you know what to ask for from Santa!

Bluck Won’t Break Up This Season

Amanda in New York City: I know you said Gossip Girl is gonna get better, and thank god for that, because the show is really awful this season, but could you give us some good Blair and Chuck spoilers? I’m missing them having a big storyline together. I’m so tired of Blair’s NYU storyline. Are they gonna have more scenes together?

Nothing earth-shattering coming up on the Chuck and Blair front, sorry. As I told you here, there is going to be huge drama with Jack Bass returning and the possible return of Chuck’s possibly not-dead mother. (Say it with me now: Mother Chucker!) And Chuck will have a surprising encounter at his father’s graveside on the anniversary of his death. All that said, the good news I can share on Chair or Bluck or whatever clever name you call them is this: Chuck and Blair are not breaking up any time this season, according to my solid source. And they say TV love can’t last!
