Ausiello: I was right. Jenny reappearance is directly connected to Tim Gunn’s upcoming cameo. Turns out Blair permits her nemesis to return to the scene of her last crime (i.e. Manhattan) just long enough for her to interview for a job with Gunn at Parsons. Without giving too much away, Raccoon Eyes inadvertently gets caught up in Chuck and Blair’s latest drama, and the whole mess comes to a head at (natch) a big fancy party.

Frederick: Gossip Girl. Give it up! Is there any hope for Chuck and Blair? I’m getting really depressed with what I’ve seen for the new season.
I know you Chair fans have been in a funk since May, when Chuck the Basshole did you know what with you know who (for shame!), but I finally have a ray of hope to offer…I can tell you exclusively that Chuck and Blair will have, um, relations, of the bom-chicka-bow-wow kind during the upcoming season. At least, that’s what my sources are saying. Whether they will actually get back together, well…that I cannot say, sorry. But still, that’s a pretty major reason to keep tuning in, right?

Penn Badgley can sum up the return of your favorite Upper East-Siders: “There’s a baby on the way, which I think everybody already knows anyway. We’re in Paris for a bit. As much as Blair tries to distract herself from the pain Chuck caused her, his mysterious appearance in Paris with a beautiful new woman (guest star Clémence Poésy) will force both of them to face what happened. Meanwhile, a newly single Serena (Blake Lively) has been enjoying a Parisian summer of love with boys, Blair and Balenciaga as she tries to avoid the inevitable decision about which of her two long-time beaus, Dan or Nate (Penn Badgley and Chace Crawford), she should return to. Back on the Upper East Side, Nate meets an intriguing girl, Juliet (guest star Katie Cassidy, “Melrose Place”), who helps him realize that his summer of sexual conquests with the help of Chuck’s little black book was his way of avoiding his unresolved feelings for Serena. Meanwhile, Dan’s (Penn Badgley) baby mama drama continues with Georgina (guest star Michelle Trachtenberg). Ausiello: A certain rat Bass-tard is going to come between them early in the season—relax, I’m not talking romantically. While Lily is more than willing to forgive Chuck for what happened with Jenny, Rufus is having a harder time moving past it. And just when he finally starts to come around, Eric lets him in on a little secret (hint: It pertains to an ugly incident from the pilot). Cue World War III.

Question: I fell in love with Dan and Vanessa last season on Gossip Girl. Needless to say, Dan’s out-of-nowhere “signs” about Serena in the finale threw me for a loop. Please say Dan and Vanessa aren’t over for good as a couple. —Sarah

Does Katie Cassidy Deserve Her Own Show?

Zap2It took at look at the supporting stars of some of the most addicting television and picked the stars that deserve their own shows! Katie Cassidy made that list. Just in case you didn’t know, Katie Cassidy starred as Ella on the Melrose Place remake that has now been canceled by The CW. She also took her turn on shows like Harper’s Island and Supernatural as a guest character.

Katie Cassidy could be hired to just read the “Gossip Girl” book series on screen — or the dictionary for that matter — and she’d still be riveting to observe. Fortunately, that’s not the case and Cassidy joins “Gossip Girl” for a multi-episode arc where the character she’s portraying will be doing more of what she did best on the “Melrose Place” reboot — harbor secrets and stir up trouble. (Oh, and did we mention she’ll do it all while looking like a flawless fashionista we’ve grown mildly obsessed with).

Now Cassidy will be joining the cast of Gossip Girl as love interest for Nate, but some don’t think that is enough! Katie Cassidy was the gem of Melrose Place and she does need to find her place as a star of her own series!

Though it’s pointless now to look back on, “What went wrong with Melrose Place 2.0?” it’s a safe bet she’d probably already be filming “MP” Season 2 had the reboot kicked off like the premiere of the second half of Season 1. Now after Katie steals some thunder from our other favorite “Gossip Girl” stars during her guest stint, lets hope one of the networks race to scoop Cassidy up and finally put the actress where she belongs: Front and center on a series of her own.

Will Cassidy steal some thunder from the Gossip Girl stars? The word is out there that Gossip Girl is losing it’s steam and adding Katie Cassidy to the roster this season is intended to generate more interest in the show. Does the show really need her to rebuild and revive?

Interesting coincidence that this year The CW network hired Katie Cassidy to join a Monday drama as a “special guest star-esque” character to boost a series which some argue (not me) is experiencing signs of fatique and/or growing pains.

There are things we can’t deny about Miss Cassidy. She is beautiful and she’s knows how to play a good role. Beyond that, there is something about her that won’t let you take your eyes off of her. The girl is vivacious!

Why is Blair Still Trying To Be Queen B?

In the first two seasons of the show, Blair Waldorf had to be the girl on top. She has to be the girl that everyone looked up to and wanted to be in life. There was a constant struggle between Blair and Serena due to jealousy issues and who would reign supreme over Constance Billard.

And then there was college! Last season we watched Blair struggle to fit in at NYU which was kind of painful to watch. NYU is place for the Dan Humphreys and Vanessa Abrams of the world, not Blair Waldorf. She wanted to make a name for herself, but the reality of the situation was no really cared that Blair Waldorf was Blair Waldorf.

And the end of season three, Blair finally got her wish and was accepted into Columbia. The place where she thinks would be a better fit for her. And now Stephanie Savage tells TV Guide Blair will have a new rival and will face a minion from the past! Who is that minion coming back from the past, Penelope. (Amanda Setton has been spotted on set many many times filming this season!)

Blair’s quests for power are never simple. And she encounters a new rival – someone who really is a force to be reckoned with.”

College isn’t high school and there really isn’t a need to be on top. There really aren’t cliques in college, unless you count the sorority/fraternity world as a clique. And that’s definitely I don’t see Blair Waldorf going; it’s not elite enough for her. So why do the Gossip Girl writers keep bringing us to this place? Blair should be a natural born leader, a strong female, who rises to the top through example and leadership. The girl may be bitchy, but she’s got a strong head on her shoulders and can navigate through any difficult situation with ease.

But a Queen B story line may not be that bad, especially after losing Blair last season. She lost her confidence and her one-liners so seeing a revival of this type of story line might just might put an end to pseudo-Blair and bring back the character we all loved so much.

Jessica Szhor Wants New Gossip Girl Story Lines and New Clothes

Jessica Szhor, aka Vanessa, wants to get some new story lines for the show. In her recent interview with Nylon Magazine, Jessica talked about the break-ups and the hook-ups on the show, plus her character style.

“I keep saying they have to bring in other characters because how many times can six characters date and hook up with each other before it gets real old?”

Maybe that might be true, but isn’t it the dynamic of the relationship that we love? Fans know that when a character comes on the show that character will have a short shelf life because they will inevitably end up with someone else. That’s the reason there is an ensemble cast and probably why most of the relationships haven’t been fleshed out completely. Do we really think Nate and Serena are over? Probably not, because they didn’t really give it a go the first time.

She also stated that Vanessa’s wardrobe was not her style. Who style is trying to steal? Jenny Humphrey’s style!

“I personally think Jenny has the best wardrobe on the show – it’s kind of grungy, but girly, without being too put together. Blair is too structured and perfect, Serena is always glammed up. Vanessa’s waaaay too much with every color and pattern. It sounds like I’m being negative about them all, but I’m not – I think they all look great. But if I was going to go shopping for [me], I’d head straight into Jenny’s closet.”

Everyone has their own style and Jenny doesn’t have a bad wardrobe. It’s Gossip Girl you can never go wrong with anything these girls wear. Szhor also noted she’s not complaining about her wardrobe because everyone looks fabulous. Go to Nylon and read the whole interview, you might find out something you didn’t know!

Blair And Chuck Not Dealing With These Serious Issues

Rape and domestic violence? On Gossip Girl really? There have been many rumors about the show going around and the latest was Chuck attempted to rape Blair while in Paris. Where do these rumors come from because this rumor is just a little over the top. Yes, Gossip Girl does deal with some issues but this might be a little too much right now! Maybe people were interpreting the Stephanie Savage spoiler about the repercussions of Paris will be felt throughout the season of the show a little too far.

Luckily this rumor is NOT true. Could you image how much people would hate Chuck? Could you imagine how many people would not want Blair and Chuck together? And could you image how many people would stop watching the show?

Per my rock-solid source: “LOL. Not true in the least.” So no one needs to shove anything anywhere uncomfortable. Phew!

Talking Gossip After Dark has been podcasting for 2 years! I can’t even believe that it’s been that long and sometimes it feels like 5 years. I started this podcast by myself and it’s grown so much. I’ve had opportunities come my way which I never thought would have happened. I’ve been told “NO” numerous times also, but that hasn’t stopped me from providing the fans of Gossip Girl a good podcast. I never thought I would be able to say that the podcast was good, but it the podcast is GOOD. It has gone through so many transitions but we are at a really great place now. Thank you for the people who have supported me and us throughout the years and a BIG THANKS to the people who sent those messages of love when I need them. I almost gave up on this podcast in May, but the fans and listeners are the reason I’m still here. So thank you for that.

I wanted to take the time to thank the people who had gotten me this far. First off, I want to thank Summer and Far Point Media for picking up the podcast and taking a chance on some people who just loved a teen drama. The little things you have done have made a big difference!

Lastly, Missy, Dave, Tyson and Brittany. Missy has let me lead her into the podcasting and suck her into these shows. She is my best friend in life, as you all know, and even when things got crazy she was still here to podcast with me and will be for a long time. Thanks for letting me introduce you to the unknown and make something really great that we can both be proud of. Yes, TGAD is my baby, but she’s been on since episode 10 so it’s kind of her little podcast baby too that has grown so much because of her. Dave, wherever you are, changed the show so much. August 17, 2010 (Burbank, CA) – The CW Network will air THE GULF IS BACK, an emotionally charged one-hour special paying tribute to the people of Mississippi and the entire Gulf region, on Friday, August 27 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET).

Actor and singer David Hasselhoff will host the special, which focuses on the resiliency of the residents of the Gulf Coast region and how they are bouncing back from the worst oil spill in the nation’s history while working tirelessly to restore their communities and lives.

Musical performances filmed during two days of free concerts at the Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi will include such artists as Lonestar, Ricky Skaggs, Bo Bice, Taylor Hicks, Ace Young, Kyle and Chris Massey, Terri Clark, Drake Bell and Brian McKnight. The show will also feature special appearances by stars including Dean Cain, Shannon Elizabeth and B.B. King, along with moving real-life stories of the heroic actions taken by everyday people to overcome problems caused by the devastating oil spill. Additional stars will be joining the show and filming segments during the next week.

GLEE star DIANNA AGRON and GOSSIP GIRL actress JESSICA SZOHR have been tipped for big things after taking home honours at the annual Breakthrough Of The Year Awards.

Blonde beauty Agron shot to fame last year (09) after taking on the role of cheerleader Quinn Fabray in the all-singing, all-dancing high school show and she walked away with the Breakthrough Newcomer trophy at Sunday’s (15Aug10) ceremony in Hollywood.

Szohr, who has been a regular on Gossip Girl since the first season in 2007, was handed the Breakthrough Actress in Film award for her work in the upcoming action horror Piranha 3D.

Breakthrough Actor in Film went to Josh Hutcherson for The Kids Are All Right, while 90210 actress AnnaLynne MCCord landed the Breakthrough Standout Performance for her role on the hit U.S. series.

Other winners at the event included Matt Bomer, who was named Breakthrough Actor in TV for White Collar, and Sofia Vergara, whose turn in Modern Family gained her the Breakthrough Actress in TV prize.

A Gossip rep confirms that the Desperate Housewives/Mad Men hottie is joining the cast for a multi-episode arc as Serena’s (Blake Lively) new love interest.

Page’s first episode is expected to fall in October. Gossip Girl‘s fourth season kicks off on Sept. 13.

Last year all we could talk about was Leighton Meester and her new recording contract, the album was supposed to be in stores by now. But there has been little talk about her music career, until now. Remember when Leighton was all about the electro-pop (Your Loves A Drug and Somebody To Love)? It doesn’t seem like she’s going that route now.

Right now I’m just writing. I’m working on a lot of acoustic stuff, that’s where my heart is kind of going right now.

Sounds like Leighton is going in the opposite direction than what fans thought. Are you still interested in Leighton’s album? Do you think she made the right move by changing her sound?

Penn Badgley Plays The Piano For Bullett

Not really sure how I missed this, but I did. Penn Badgley plays the piano for Bullett Magazine.

Penn tells the magazine about his first CD purchase. “The 23-year-old actor shared that his passion for music came from an early age – and that the first CD he ever bought was The Fugees‘ The Score when he was just eight years old!”

This is definitely a video you want to check out, especially if you’re a Penn fan. And if you’re not a Penn fan you might just become one after seeing this. Doesn’t he look so cute? Penn has previously spoken about music at the start of Gossip Girl and said it was a major passion in his life, but acting was his first passion.

This is a huge relief because Gossip Girl could not exist without Serena van der Woodsen or Blair Waldorf. If one of these people wants to leave the show, then it should just end!

Does Blake Lively want off Gossip Girl?

The rumor mill is rolling, but could it be true. Does Blake Lively want to quite Gossip Girl for a movie career? And will the show be the same without Serena van der Woodsen?

She’s tired of working on the show. It was great at the beginning, but she’s started to get bored of her story lines and all the petty fights on set.

According to the article, Blake wants Serena killed off of the show in a dramatic manner, maybe a suicide story line.

Execs aren’t convinced they’ll let her go but ideas have been thrown around. Suicide is one, though it’s likely to be an accident.

Now these are just rumors, Blake has no commented on this story which leaves some suspicions out on the table. The only problem with Serena van der Woodsen not being on Gossip Girl is, there will be no Gossip Girl without her.

The whole story revolves around Serena and Blair’s relationship and their world so without her there would be an empty place.

Enough Chuck and Blair! I want the goods on Rufus and Lily, the best couple on television. What’s up for them thi season? Also, is Michele Trachtenberg going to be a regular?
I’m told that Michele is not a series regular, though we’ll definitely be seeing her in the beginning of the season, obviously. And as for Rufus and Lily, not a whole lot of major action going on there in the beginning of the season. But stay tuned!

Drew: Is the baby really Dan’s on Gossip Girl? Will Jenny Humphrey be back?
No comment re: the baby. But think about it! As for Little J, yes, she will return.

Anything good coming up on Gossip Girl?
Well, when I asked a good show source if there’s hope for Chuck and Blair he said “Of course,” so take that for what you will. Meanwhile, in real life, our very own Hollywood Party Girl is reporting at Jessica Szohr and Ed Westwick have reunited into full-fledged coupledom. Guess he doesn’t really care that just last week, Jessica was swapping spit with another gal (and we know this little gem thanks in large part to our partner in crime Marc Malkin). Gossip Cop Sets Us Straight About Jessica and Ed

The “are they or aren’t they” just might be over thanks to Gossip Cop. Many rumors have hit the web about the status of Jessica Szhor and Ed Westwick’s relationship. Things started to get ugly earlier this year when Jessica supposedly cheated on Ed with a friend. And then there were the rumors of Ed and the rest of the Gossip Girl cast were freezing Jessica out. But just recently, Ed and Jessica were spotted making out at Lollapalooza. Gossip Cop gives us the details:

“Things are moving in the right direction,” says a source close to Szohr, who acknowledged the pair had problems, but says “they are hanging out,” and working on “moving past it.”

But “things change from week to week,” admits the Szohr confidante.

Yes folks, they are not officially together, but they seem to be trying to work it out. Will they or won’t they? Time will only tell.

Gossip Girl Spoilers: The Weekend Round Up – Katie Cassidy and First Episodes

According to Chace Crawford, Katie Cassidy is really becoming a serious Gossip Girl. She’s going to be around for 10-12 episodes which is huge in the Gossip Girl world.

Want to know the titles for the first two episodes of season 4? Episode 4.01 – Belles du Jour and Episode 4.02 – Double Identity are the names according to this site.
Fashion’s Night Out, a Vogue shopping event, will be featured in two episodes of Gossip Girl this season. Vogue editor’s Hamish Bowles and Lauren Santo Domingo have already shot their guest appearances for the show.

Gossip Girl TCA – Chuck and Blair and Jenny Too

Executive producers, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage along with Gossip Girl actor, Ed Westwick opened up about season 4 of the smash teen drama Gossip Girl at The CW TCA in Beverly Hills yesterday.

There has not been much news about the upcoming season of Gossip Girl until now and Westwick opened up about filming the season premiere episode of the show in Paris. According to Buzz Sugar, who saw the new trailer for the show and said “we see Blair and Serena touring Paris, Serena taking off on the back of a motorcycle, and ultimately, Blair throwing Serena in a fountain. We also see Dan with a baby (not sure if it’s his baby just yet) and Nate surrounded by a harem of scantily clad ladies. It all leads up to the big moment when Chuck and Blair come face to face again in the city of lights.”

Josh Schwartz also said there things that happened in Paris will continue to impact the show through the season and there will be “explosive consequences” of the Blair and Chuck meeting in Paris. As for shooting in Paris, Stephanie Savage told E! Online, “Paris was the ultimate expression of what the show is—fashion, architecture, Blair’s father lives there, coffee, lingerie, all a part of the Gossip Girl world.”

There has also been some confusion if Taylor Momsen will return to the show. Many gossip outlets have referred to her as the “former Gossip Girl starlet” and made many mentions to the fact that she’s not coming back to the show. Taylor Momsen has also fueled the fire by giving interviews saying she’s done with Gossip Girl and she has a pretty strong music career ahead of her. With all the speculation flying around, Stephanie Savage did reveal that Taylor Momsen will be coming back to the show.

Also, the character we love to hate, Georgina Sparks played by Michelle Trachtenberg, will come back. Trachtenberg may have more time on her hands since NBC axed Mercy so Georgina may be able to spread more drama across the Upper East Side.

Taylor Momsen Promotes Material Girl

We previously reported that Taylor Momsen was the face of Madonna and daughter Lourdes fashion line “Material Girl”. Now it’s time for her to promote it and this is a look at one of the first ads for the campaign.

The line will launch exclusively in Macy’s stores on August 3rd. On August 3rd from 5-7 pm, Taylor will make a special appearance at Macy’s Herald Square in NYC and perform live. And on September 22nd, Madonna and Lola, will also make a special appearance at the same venue.
