This week’s episode of Gossip Girl included; Serena trying to determine the status of Blair and Dan’s relationship after getting the message from Vanessa, Dan trying to hide his feelings for Blair, Blair trying to hook up with a prince, Chuck trying to determine whether or not his father was responsible for the possible death of Rania’s mother and Nate trying to help Rania as she searched for her mom.
We also got to see what Lily’s punishment was for her ‘crimes’ house arrest. She is cooped up in her home and there is a pink party in the mist that she will not be able to attend.
Her family decided to help her through her ordeal by moving the party to her, but they soon find that maybe they should have left well enough alone when the party goers including Nate’s mom Ann decide to freeze her it. It turns out that almost all of the society women dislike her.
Chuck is chasing Coke with Scotch because he is in turmoil over whether or not his father is truly responsible for the murder of Raina’s mother. His guilt is killing him, and after Raina gets a tip that her mother may indeed be alive, he decided that he should go with Raina and Nate to discover if her mom is truly alive. He and Raina are both devastated, ( for different reasons) to find that the possible mother is in fact not the mother.
Blair is finally getting her fairytale ending. The Prince has come all the way from Europe to date her and she’s ecstatic. He tells her that she must keep their rendezvous’ a secret. Blair soon finds herself in a scheme to make the Princes people think that she is dating Dan. Dan agrees to partake in the scheme and he soon finds himself once again lip locked with Blair.
Dan and Blair’s plan comes crashing down when Serena and her cousin capture them kissing on film. They send the video to Gossip Girl and everyone thinks Blair dating Dan until the end when Blair and the Prince decide to go public with their relationship ( I loved the beautiful flashing, twinkling stars of the cameras that captured them as they kissed at the end. LOL it was all so magical!)
Blair and Serena are once again mad at each other. Then, Blair digs the knife in deeper when she tells Serena that what she had with Dan was real and that she and Dan understood each other and could do things together that they could never do with her.
In the end of the episode it seems as if Blair is ‘winning’, she’s got the Prince, Dan wants her, Serena is jealous and her life seems to be going according to her new plan.
The episode was a really good episode. One could clearly see that the drama is starting to rise. I loved the Lily and the house arrest thing. All that’s missing is a reality show starring her.
It is so funny to me that Serena’s schemes never seem to go according to plan.
And poor Chuck, if it’s not one thing it’s another… He never gets a break.
I can’t wait to see what comes of Serena’s cousin and Dan. There seems to be something brewing there…
I loved when Dan told Vanessa where to stick it. I am still baffled as to why she felt it was her place to tell Serena anything about Blair and Dan. (I must admit though, I did feel sorry for her, but, I am also confused what happened to her? She used to be GG’s moral compass and now she just a tell all with no friends)
I think this episode deserves a good solid 4 out of 5.
