Get Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick nominated for an Emmy

The Gossip Girl season ended last night and that means we’ve seen it all. Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester really played there parts well this season and upped the ante for acting and I think they should be rewarded for their great efforts. Yes, we’ve seen Blair and Chuck struggle all season long to come to a resolution about their love, but we wouldn’t have been remotely interested in the story if the actors playing those characters weren’t interesting. Both Meester and Westwick added a little something extra to this season of Gossip Girl so we are official launching the “Get Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick nominated for an Emmy” campaign.
Teen drama stars don’t usually get nominated for these type of awards but it does happen. Kerry Russell won a Golden Globe for her work as Felicity and Sarah Michelle Gellar was nominated for a Golden Globe for Buffy The Vampire Slayer in 2001. So it can happen and I think we need to give people a little push. It’s starts today. Many things will follow, but now just fill out this form and we’ll start from there.

I love this idea!
They really do both deserve it. They bring such vulnerability to Chuck & Blair while being able to pull off the witty, spunky, comedic lines.
What a joke ! Kristen Bell and Jason Dohring never had emmy nomination for their amazing work in Veronica Mars and you expect to see gossip girls actors to be nominated, be serious please !
Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick are the best actors in Gossip Girl it’s for sure but they are not emmy awards material !
And the emmy voters don’t see CW shows for them CW is a crappy low network, hands down.
And when Kerry Russel and SMG were nominated they were in WB shows and not CW and it’s a big difference trust me !
yea, i hear ya.
there are more deserving actors that needed nominations before leighton and ed. see: most of the cast of battlestar galactica.
the cw isnt supposed to be a serious scripted drama network. theyre not a major, so they can afford to be a niche for women 18-34 years of age. thats why their branding strategy is to be the home for the prettiest people on tv. sometimes thats enough to get some people emmy considerations in the popular vote.
and it seems like that might be the case if what the la times emmy blog reported last week is true. they never would have submitted if they didnt anticipate that they had a fighting chance. and im betting since so much buzz is generated about ed westwick, he will be a long-lister and POSSIBLY a dark horse nomination for lead. i dont forsee good futures for the other two.
im interested in what reels leighton, ed and nate submitted. i cant imagine what chace chose. but im secretly hoping that theyre shot down and eddy james olmos gets a lead actor nomination in their place lol.
i hope they win!
oh the site makes more sense now
i love blair and chuck, so hope leighton and ed got the nomination.
