Gossip Girl this week wanted to keep us on our toes and take us to the ballet this week. Blair and Chuck struggled with their hate sex relationship and Blair claimed to need a Bassectomy. Dan struggled with his feelings for Serena only to find her torn between many lovers again. Serena wanted Colin to make the grand gesture to prove that he really cared for her but when he did she didn’t want it…she wanted Dan. That is until Nate shows up and says that he believes in second chances, the same line he uttered to Juliet a few hours before. Juliet decides to leave Ben’s take down scheme and chooses Nate. And when Vanessa sees Dan is tipping toward Serena, she decides enough is enough and wants to take her down. Vanessa and Juliet team up to take Serena down, but Juliet loses everything in the process when she outs Colin for his relationship with Serena. But Juliet has a plan up her sleeve which involves lil Jenny Humphrey.
The Highlights:
- Serena is so self absorbed and doesn’t really pay any attention to Blair when she’s obviously trying to get her out of her room. Serena just plops on the bed while Chuck is stuck under the covers. Serena you may have needed to talk but you do have boundary issues. Blair is right, a lady always knocks.
- Blair and Chuck denying that they are friends and this is just hate sex. They obviously have feelings for each other and they are using the sex as a way to skirt the issue. The one thing they both agreed on was the sex had to end but they methods they chose were totally opposite. This shows a difference in the whole male and female brain: Chuck wanted to get have as much sex a possible and Blair thought staying away from sex with Chuck for a while would solve the problem.
- The gang ganging up on Juliet at the end of the episode was classic Gossip Girl. Blair came to Serena’s rescue by drowning the memory card and saying she was the one in the photos. And then the scene outside when they all came together to push Juliet away from the ballet and out of Columbia…it was magical. It’s nice to know that when they all need each other, they are all there to help. Welcome back to the non-judging Breakfast Club.
- Dan planted the seed in Serena’s head about Colin not really caring for her if he’s not willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to be with her. When Colin finally makes the decision to quit so they can be together, Serena decides that she doesn’t want him. Classic Serena, but by the time it came to this point in the episode fans were kind of pulling for Serena. Why did Serena wait so long to make the right decision? If she would have stuck to this in the beginning, Colin still could be teaching at Columbia.
- The Juliet story line has got to be one of the best written story lines ever done on Gossip Girl. Or maybe producers are just being mum with the spoilers which is a nice change for Gossip Girl fans. But the little clues that are dropped every week make this story work AND Juliet served another purpose besides just being the enemy. It’s kind of refreshing to watch Juliet fall in love with Nate, take control of the group and then be pushed to the side…just like Vanessa. This week we learn that Ben was really something when he was a young teacher of 26. Could she possibly have hooked up with Ben?
- Gossip Girl went to the ballet and the only thing that came to mind was Cooper Nelson (aka Ethan Stiefel). Love Center Stage! That’s him the picture below! And the beautiful dresses all the girls wore. Weren’t they amazing?

The Lowlights:
- Vanessa you’ve been a great supporting character, but now you’ve shown your true colors…green with envy. Vanessa wanting to take Serena down because Dan and Nate have feelings for the blonde bombshell was very disturbing…and the acting was horrible. It was like Vanessa took on a totally off the mask she’s been wearing since season one and became the “mean girl” of Brooklyn. The way she said “For Serena? Sorry Nate” didn’t even sound right coming out her mouth. Can we say over acting?
- Vanessa lies to Juliet to make her change sides. Juliet is giving up on love with Nate because of a lie Vanessa has told and she’s lost her funding for Columbia too. Was this the smartest move for Juliet? Nope! She should have just let the scheme go so she could at least stay in school and in her normal apartment. (Nothing poor about that apartment…it was normal and what normal people live in.) Juliet, karma is a bitch and you just got played by Vanessa. Why would you even trust someone that you did wrong in one of your own schemes?
- Dan and Serena, Serena and Nate! Serena just choose one and let’s wrap up this story line. How long can we watch these guys follow Serena around like a lost puppy? Serena changes and loves men like she changes underwear, what about this sounds appealing to Dan? For Nate this isn’t a problem because he does the same thing as Serena. Every time we think she has picked her man, she changes her mind at one hair toss and an Upper East Side smile!
- Juliet makes a Skype call to Jenny about getting help from the inside? Why would Jenny want to take part in this? Isn’t her beef with Blair and not Serena? Doesn’t Jenny want to come back to the Upper East Side with nothing standing in her way? This does not look good for her return. The group is going to be UPSET!
