Gossip Girl Graphic Novel in The Works
On The OC Seth, Summer and Zack came up with Atomic County which was their lives in graphic novel format, but now it’s happening with Gossip Girl.
Gossip Girls: For Your Eyes Only will be a “re-imagining” of the senior year of characters Blair and Vanessa, written and illustrated by HyeKyung Baek, creator of Bring It On! (also published by Yen Press).

“There are few series in the publishing world that have been as impactful or successful as Cecily von Ziegesar’s GOSSIP GIRL,” said Yen Press Publishing Director Kurt Hassler in the official announcement of the series. “The novels have captured the imaginations of young women around the world, and we look forward to demonstrating with GOSSIP GIRL: FOR YOUR EYES ONLY that graphic novels as a medium can be just as welcoming to girls as it is to boys.”

Anyhoo…
I am a manga reader, although obviously this is different, and I just..don’t know. I think they’re choosing Vanessa so we have one upper east sider, and one Brooklyn character whose supposed to be more “relatable or other crap”. But, that’s NOT why people watch Gossip Girl. I at least, watch it to escape to a world different from my own. I’ll give it a chance, but I’m not expecting much.
as long as it gives justice to its original concept, then let’s go for it
