Chace Crawford might have to make a choice between his first big movie role or the show that really gave him his start. It’s possible that Chace will be absent from Gossip Girl season three just like in season two because he might have to choose between Nate Archibald and Ren McCormick. (Everyone can’t forget his 1 minute cameo in 2.13 – Oh Brother Where Bart Thou? because he should have had a much larger role since he is Chuck’s best friend, eh?)
A source told E! News, “There’s a big overlap of when he’d have to shoot Footloose and the next season of Gossip Girl. Chace may be hiring a big-league attorney to come in and figure out how to make it work.”
Can we handle another season of a Nate Archibald disappearance without any real explanation? Some people think Crawford doesn’t add any acting chops to the show, but when there’s no Nate there is a difference. Nate has some of the most twisted story lines of Gossip Girl and he needs to be around The main group of characters; Blair, Serena, Dan, Chuck and Nate need to be in a majority of the episodes. Those characters are what make Gossip Girl happen.
But it’s a sticky situation: the role that made him or the role that can make him bigger? If faced with the choice, what do you think Chace should choose? The responsible thing to do would make it work and that would require all the top people to make sure they can make it work smoothly. Chace in Footloose can boost Gossip Girl by granting it more publicity and buzz and Chace on Gossip Girl will get the fanbase to rally for Chace which means people will go see the movie. It’s a win-win for everyone. So for the love of Gossip Girl fans, don’t be selffish; just make it happen!
