As the season finale of Gossip Girl draws sadly near (I can’t believe its on Monday!) I’ve been able to get a peek at some of the styles that will take over the last episode. After drooling over a garment or two that Serena and Blair will be wearing, I decided to go back and see how our ladies styles have changed from one season finale to the next. Did Blair get trendier? Did Serena cover up more or less? Let’s take a look and see.
Season One Finale: Much I Do About Nothing
As you may remember, the season one finale had a large event going on, the wedding of Lily and Bart. The episode brought tons of drama, shake-ups and break-ups, and a sweet moment or two. But what I really remember is what the ladies wore to mark this special occasion.

Blair wore this lovely Collette Dinnigan floral dress for the ceremony. Love the matching shoes and of course headband. Simple, chic, perfect for the spring season.

Serena on the other hand, wore a yellow and black Ralph Lauren dress as she played bridesmaid. Showing some, but not too much cleavage, the dress was nice but the black gloves were a little bit much.
On a more casual note, the ladies wore some colorful and simple pieces when the occasion didn’t call for formal.
Here Blair is wearing a Marc by Marc Jacobs top, aDVF jacket, aGucci handbag and Stuart Weitzman pumps. Serena on the other hand is wearing a Chrisitan Cota caplet, an Alexander Wang tank, Wrangler jeans, and is carrying a Chanel bag.

I am loving both pieces.
Season Two Finale: The Goodbye Gossip Girl
This episode as we know will feature the all important graduation of our favorite Upper East Side Seniors and I was excited to see what they chose to wear under those pesky graduation gowns,
Here Serena is wearing a stunning blue dress by Jay Godfrey. I am loving the dress and you can’t see it in the pic, but the shoes are simple and cute and adorned with a flower. The bracelet adds a nice touch as well.

Blair on the other hand is wearing a dress by Diane Von Furstenberg (she’s been seen in designs by this lady all season long) called the Sophia Loren dress. She pairs it with a light blue Leifsdottir Faux Pearl Pointelle Cardigan, red tights, the signature headband, and a Chanel Flap Bag.

And finally, we know since they are graduating that there will be a ceremony, hence the green gowns, but its nice to know that the girls didn’t let a cap and gown get in their way of style.
Serena is leaving her gown open so we can spy that lovely dress, and Blair let her necklace drape over her cords, so I assume we all know she is smart and has a great sense of style.

Overall both girls have only improved fashion wise from season one to season two. I think Blair has gotten a little bit more grown up in her outfit choices, still wearing bold colors, but featuring them in more tailored and adult like pieces. Serena has kept her simple approach to fashion, wearing look at me styles (i.e. plunging necklines and sheer fabrics) and accenting with bold accessories.
If I had to say which season finale had the best style, well then I’d have to say Season two (and I haven’t even seen it all yet!). What do you think? Let me know!
Coming next Friday: Fashion Retrospective of Season Two. The Good, the Bad, and the just plain Fugliest Fashion Ever.
