Serena’s Style is Blake’s Fashion Sense

Let me first off say hello to my fellow GG fashion lovers. I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted and left you in somewhat of a fashion lurch, but I assure you my love for GG fashion has not gone out out the window. If you listen to the podcast (which surely you must!) then you know I have been keeping you up to date each week on what our favorite upper east side guys and gals have been wearing this season, I’ve just let any actual posts on the site go by the wayside. But fear not, I am back and ready to talk fashion and who better to start with then one of my favorite girls Blake Lively aka Serena Van Der Woodsen.

In the newest issue of  Nylon Magazine (out this month) Blake gave an interview where she revealed the lines between herself and Serena aren’t all that blurry, at least not in the wardrobe department.

She told the magazine, “I dress just like Serena! I own half her wardrobe, so its far too similar to the way I dress.”  She went on to say that she sometimes finds it ridiculous, the situations that Serena gets into that is, because she looks like herself while playing the crazy character. “I feel ridiculous at times with her-because I’m, you know, killing someone or marrying someone, but I look like me. I’m like ‘Oh, this is absurd.’”

She goes on to the tell the magazine some more fun details about herself such as her prankster side, apparently the old swipe-the-phone-on-your-friends-butt game hasn’t gone out of style for this gossip girl, just how much she feels for her friends, and when she realized how crazy the whole acting game actually is.

I for one loved the article, not only because it gave me more insight to Blake and the character of Serena (who I may have mocked a time or twelve) but it was interesting to see how the stylings of a character can affect the real person. I wonder how Leighton really feels about headbands after all.
