The Gossip Girl spin off started out as a rumor but came into fruition not too long ago. But now the show may be dead before it even starts. Rumors are the scenes that were shot for Mondays episode of Gossip Girl (2.24 – Valley Girls) didn’t turn out the way CW executives had hoped and the show wasn’t placed into the fall schedule.

We’ve asked you repeatedly would you watch the show and a lot of people said no, so did they hear your voice?

I wanted to give the show a chance just to see what it would be like and we never know we could actually like the show. After all they did score Brittany Snow to play Lily! But now it just seems it’s dead on arrival and if that’s the case I wish they wouldn’t have started this backdoor pilot late in the Gossip Girl season; especially with the prom episode!

GOSSIP GIRL SPINOFF (Warner Bros/CBS-Paramount/Alloy Entertainment): As I reported at 2:45 PM today, put a fork in it. It’s done. Next Monday’s episode of Gossip Girl is a flashback that was supposed to be a tempting taste for next fall’s spinoff following the wild teen years of now mom Lily van der Woodsen (played by Brittany Snow) in Los Angeles in the 1980s. But even though I heard Peter Roth loved its yesteryear vibe, the show went from hot, to lukewarm, to “fading but wouldn’t count out”, to now dead, according to my insiders. I’m really surprised.
